Addressing the world's most pressing problems requires empathy. We promote real, recognizable and universal people and stories.
Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million friends, leaders, and problem solvers who see a planet where people come together and take action to create lasting change in the world, their communities, and themselves.
To solve the most pressing problems, dedication and vision are prerequisites. For more than 110 years, Rotary's people of action have tackled the most serious problems with passion, energy, and competence. Whether it's literacy projects, peace-building, or access to water and health care, we strive to improve the world, persevering until our mission is accomplished.
As members of Rotary, we assume the responsibility to take action to address the most pernicious problems affecting humanity.
The first Rotary Club was the Rotary Club of Chicago, Illinois, USA, founded in 1905 by Paul P. Harris. Today, approximately 1.2 million Rotarians make up the more than 33,000 Rotary clubs that operate in more than 200 countries. In Spain there are more than 4,000 Rotarians integrated in 3 Districts that group more than 200 clubs.
Rotary is an international organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and contributes to the building of goodwill and peace throughout the world.
Rotary members improve lives and bring positive, lasting change to communities around the world by promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, saving mothers and children, and growing local economies. Rotary's top priority is polio eradication. In 1985, Rotary launched its polio immunization program, Polio Plus, and in 1988 became a leading partner in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
We see things differently: We use our multidisciplinary perspective to address challenges from diverse approaches.
